India’s G&J Exports Rise 2.44% in April–July 2026
Mumbai: India’s gross gems and jewellery (G&J) exports for the April–July 2026 period stood at US$ 9.17 billion (Rs. 87,078.01 crore), registering 2.44% growth in US Dollar terms and 13.58% growth in Rupee terms over the corresponding period last year, according to figures provided by Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). The growth has been led by value-added segments.

Russia Plans Europe’s Largest Diamond Cutting Cluster
Moscow: Russia is planning to create the largest cluster of diamond-cutting facilities in Europe, in a move aimed at retaining more value from its stones. The cluster will combine Alrosa’s Kristall cutting plant in Smolensk with facilities in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia’s main diamond-producing region. President Vladimir Putin formalized the plan in an executive order signed August 6.

Rio Tinto’s Zimbabwe Diamond Mine Output Drops
Harare: Rio Tinto said its 78 percent owned Murowa mine in Zimbabwe recorded a 4 percent drop in output to 101,000 carats during the fourth quarter of 2014.
