Mumbai: Platinum Guild International (PGI) has once again served a spark of inspiration and excitement with their 5th annual JCK 2014 Platinum Innovation Awards. The winners were chosen for 8 unique design categories. An “Editor’s Choice” and “Buyer’s Choice” were selected in each design category, as well as “Best in Show” Award which was selected as a culmination of all votes. The ceremony was held at Las Vegas and winners were awarded at the winners’ JCK booths by the PGI USA “Prize Patrol” team.
This year, Platinum Guild International newly announced Craftsmanship Award based on overall quality of workmanship, rather than the design of one particular piece. Los Angeles-based Omi Privé, which specializes in high-end coloured gemstone jewellery design and production, received the “Platinum Craftsmanship Award” at the fifth annual Platinum Innovation Awards. “The Platinum Innovation Awards have become an industry trademark amongst those who are passionate about working in platinum” says PGI-USA CEO Huw Daniel. “With each contest, we see increased ingenuity and a sense of pride in participation. We are excited to see what the new element in the competition will inspire and anticipate that we will see the greatest level of innovation in platinum design to date.”
“This year we introduced the Platinum Craftsmanship Award, judged by an industry expert, to recognize designers who demonstrate the utmost skill and precision in crafting the highest quality product. Omi Prive’s dedication to producing premier quality platinum pieces especially shined through in this competition and we are pleased to honor them with this award,” he added.
