Tel Aviv: Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, attended the India–Israel CEOs Forum on 20th November 2025 at Hotel Dan Tel Aviv, following his nomination by DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, as a representative from the Indian side. During the visit, he also met Mr. Nir Barkat, Minister of Economy and Industry, Israel.
In his address, Mr. Bhansali underlined the long-standing and deeply connected partnership between India and Israel, built on decades of collaboration in the global diamond trade. He highlighted Israel’s historic and influential role as a pillar of the international diamond industry, and emphasized that this leadership remains essential for global stability and growth. He also expressed confidence that Israel will continue to play a strong and proactive role within the Kimberley Process (KP), supporting ethical, transparent, and responsible trade.
He shared encouraging trends in gem and jewellery (G&J) bilateral trade, noting that imports from Israel rose by over 60% during April–September 2025, while India’s gold jewellery exports to Israel surged by more than 200%, indicating diversification beyond diamonds and improving trade stability.
Looking ahead, Mr. Bhansali noted immense potential for deeper cooperation in digital traceability, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, design innovation, and lab-grown diamond technology. He reaffirmed that the combined strengths of both nations—India’s scale and craftsmanship with Israel’s innovation and precision—will shape a more resilient and future-ready gem and jewellery ecosystem.
