Mumbai: The 36th edition of the most anticipated event in the city – the Women Entrepreneurs’ Exhibition organized by the Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry opened yesterday. For over five decades, the Wing has championed women’s empowerment, fostered entrepreneurship, and promoted economic growth through its innovative initiatives. This popular event was a spectacular showcase of exceptional creativity, talent, and innovation, bringing together women entrepreneurs who do not have a retail presence.
The lovely Kareena Kapoor Khan, an icon of women’s empowerment and achievement herself, joined IMC Ladies’ Wing President Amrita Somaiya, Chairperson of the Exhibition Committee Ishita Jain and Co-Chairperson, Exhibition Committee Nisha Shah. Also present were the Wing’s illustrious past presidents and members, celebrating the 276 women entrepreneurs and the exhibition’s exceptional array of meticulously curated offerings spanning fashion, jewellery, lifestyle, accessories, culinary delights, and more. Several notable names from Mumbai’s high society were seen enjoying the shopping extravaganza, including Rashmi Thakre, Amrita Raichand, Sonam Babani, Nandita Das and Deepika Gehani.
The décor of the beautiful exhibition reflected Mrs. Somaiya’s theme for the year, – ‘We Rise by Lifting Others, which resonated with the significance of women advancing collectively, embracing their shared cultural heritage, and propelling mutual growth and empowerment. It served as a tribute to women’s inherent strength and resilience, a testament to our journey of collective ascent, and a reminder of the pivotal role of support and encouragement in reaching greater pinnacles.
