IDMA Welcomes New Ladies Executives

New York: International Diamond Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) has welcomed the newly appointed ladies executives recently appointed in the global diamond sector on different faculties.

In its 168th Weekly Newsletter, the IDMA president Mr. Ronnie VanderLinden says, “International Women’s Day was on March 8, already a week ago, but I would like to impress upon our rather somewhat conservative industry, the KEY roles women play in our industry today.”

“Last week we introduced the new Executive Director of the World Diamond Council, Marie Chantal Kaninda. That same week we also welcomed Tiffany Stevens as the new CEO and President of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee.”

“Below you will find news about the appointment of UAE KP Director Maryam Al Hashemi as the 2017 Chair of the Committee of Participation and Chairmanship (CPC) of the Kimberley Process.”

“And last but not least our members are also excited that in Antwerp, Melissa Smet is the new Director of the SBD, and also the new Secretary of IDMA. The IDMA board and members wish all of you women leaders past and present, success!! You go ladies!!”

“Melissa is preparing the groundwork for the special IDMA Presidents’ Forum that will take place at the end of this month- March 30-31 – in Antwerp. There we will spend two days discussing the state of the diamond manufacturing industry and most importantly, mapping IDMA’s future.”
