Gemewizard to talk about Big Data Analysis at MGJC

Ramat Gan: Next week, at the Mediterranean Gemmology and Jewellery Conference (MGJC) in Budva, Montenegro, Menahem Sevdermish and Guy Borenstein of Gemewizard will be presenting an exciting lecture about “Big Data Analysis and Insights in the Online Gem and Jewelry Trade,” demonstrating how Gemewizard helps large, online trading platforms remove the ‘bad apples’ from their participating vendor lists and thus enhance consumer confidence in their operations.

“Big data analytics is the process of collecting, organizing and analyzing large data volumes to reveal hidden patterns and unfamiliar correlations, identify market trends, and extract other useful information, which otherwise might be unnoticed – even to the data manager,” said Borenstein, Gemewizard’s Vice President of Gemological Services.

“The research and development team of Gemewizard® devised and digitized a fully automatic big gem data analysis system for large-scale gem and jewelry marketplaces. Based on color and a contextual search engine and image analysis, the system generates unique market analytics, fraud detection and prevention service,” Gemewizard President Sevdermish added. “Some of these insights, which are considered fruitful and an eye opener for any marketplace or e-tailer, will be shared with conference participants,” he said.

At the conference, Menahem Sevdermish and Guy Borenstein will also hold a workshop on “Ruby, sapphire, emerald and fancy colored diamond grading” and explain how to determine their quality and value.
