Gem-A Take the Party to Tucson

Text logo and heraldry colour 2767uLondon: The Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) has announced its upcoming plans for the Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase from the 1 – 15 February.

Over the course of the two week showcase Gem-A plans to introduce jewellers, gemmologists and mineralogists to their range of professional educational courses, membership services, instruments and publications through a number of exhibitions, workshops, and a special ‘Big Gem Bash’.

National Association of Jewellery Appraisers (NAJA) Conference (1 February – 2 February):

Gem-A begin their trip to Tucson with 2 days at the National Association of Jewellery Appraisers (NAJA) Conference at the Tucson Convention Center running from Sunday 1 February – Monday 2 February, where it will exhibit throughout the weekend, as well as sponsoring Sunday lunch on the first day of the conference.

Accredited Gemologists Association (AGA) Conference (4 February):

Following the NAJA Conference, Gem-A will be in attendance as Platinum Sponsors of the Accredited Gemologists Association (AGA) annual international conference and Gala Banquet taking place at the Marriott University Park Hotel Conference Centre on Wednesday 4 February. The conference itself invites a number of exciting speakers from around the globe, touching on topics of interests to both budding gemmologists and working professionals.

AGTA Tucson (3 – 8 February):

Gem-A will once again be returning to the AGTA GemFair Tucson from the 3 – 8 February 2015, to take part in one of the largest and most famous international gem shows across the globe. As AGTA Tucson represents a staple in the diet of any working gemmologist, Gem-A will be joining the show for another year to exhibit its range of educational and training courses, instruments, membership services and publications at Booth 29 on the mezzanine level of the Galleria.

In addition to Gem-A’s exhibition space, the Association will also run a number of one off events for both Gem-A members and prospective gemmology students, starting with a two of workshops in the Graham/Gila Room. Firstly, Gem-A Tutors Andrew Fellows and Lizzie Gleave will present an interactive workshop on Stimulating Simulants at 9am on Thursday 5 February,followed by a talk on Spectacular Spectrums, at 1pm.

Later the same evening Gem-A are also inviting students, members and friends to have a drink, food and enjoy some live music at Gem-A’s Big Gem Bash hosted on the evening of the 5 February from 6.00 – 8.30pm at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Tucson. Tucson Gem & Mineral Show (12 – 15 February):

Gem-A will be extending their stay in Tucson this year to attend the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, the world’s largest gem and mineral show. Following on from AGTA GemFair Tucson and running from the 12 – 15 February at the Tucson Convention Center, the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show is the Tucson Gem & Mineral Society’s yearly event inviting both gemmologists and mineralogists to come together for a number of exhibitions, workshops and events, and celebrate their shared love for all things gem or mineral. Gem-A will be available on Booth 1928 – 1929 to discuss all things gem related, give advice on education and training, and offer its world-famous Gem-A brand instruments to all visitors.
