Mumbai: The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), had, some time back launched MyKYCBank.com for the benefit of the industry. The GJEPC is now holding training sessions for representatives (who are typically involved in the KYC process) of participating member companies. These sessions are planned to be held twice a week – every Tuesday and Thursday at 4.00 pm — at the GJEPC’s Conference Room.
MyKycBank.com by G&J KYC Information Center is an initiative of The Gems & Jewellery Exports Promotion Council (www.gjepc.org) to help its members and global participants in gems and jewellery business to maintain their Know Your Customer (KYC) information on a centralised web-based platform and share it with other members online. This initiative is supported by leading trade bodies from other international trading hubs of this Industry; and including the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB).
The process of registration, verification and sharing information having now been taken online, can be done conveniently from anywhere, with basic internet access. Being a well-defined industry standard, the MyKycBank.com process meets with guidelines and requirements prevalent in most relevant countries, making it widely acceptable. This, together with the support the process has received from most industry bodies worldwide, make it a truly global initiative. Members just need to update their own company details. upon successful verification of details and documents, members will get their Permanent KYC ID, using which they can share KYC documents with other registered members.
Information and documents shared by members are stored in a password protected secured environment with sufficient measures of protection taken to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
