2nd Platinum BSM Begins from 5th July in Chennai

Mumbai: After the success of the first edition of the ‘Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet’ (BSM), Platinum Guild International (PGI) is back with its second edition. The 2nd edition of the Platinum Buyer seller meet will be held in Chennai from 5th to 7th July 2017 exclusively for the manufactures & retailers of Platinum Jewellery in India.

The agenda of the meet is to give an opportunity to the manufacturers to exhibit the width and depth of the Platinum designs available and provide them with exclusive meeting time with key retailers.  This initiative by Platinum Guild International reflects the growing importance in the portfolio of leading jewellery retailers across the country.

Gearing up for the 2nd edition of Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet, Vaishali Banerjee, Managing Director, India, Platinum Guild International says, “The platinum business has made a rapid recovery after the challenges of 2016, with Q1 2017 being exceptionally strong for platinum retail sales. Our trade partners are bullish about the category and are looking at ways to expand the business further. Platinum brings in a new, young consumer; one that is informed and engaged with the category providing the retailer with a real opportunity for incremental growth. This is evidenced in our retail activation program ‘The Season of Love’ where participating retailers have grown from 200 doors last year to 600+ doors this year. The campaign is still on but the initial sales reported by the stores are at a + 35-40%+ growth over last year. The Buyer-Seller Meet has been strategically planned post the successful ‘The Season of Love’, campaign when retailers are ready to stock up for the season. This year our manufacturing partners will present an exciting new range across Platinum Love Bands, Platinum Evara and men’s jewellery. Platinum jewellery is the only category that has been consistently growing in double digits for most retailer’s due to the innovative marketing initiatives undertaken by PGI. The Platinum Buyer seller meet aims to strengthen the relationship between manufactures and retailers, to showcase the true business potential of platinum and to help deepen their knowledge about the category. The Buyer and Seller meet will be attended by key manufactures and retailers across the country, wherein retailers will be able to leaf through the wide range of platinum designs available in the market.  Manufacturers too, will get an opportunity to initiate and explore new business with retailers they may not have engaged with in the past.
