Kolkata: A GJF Delegation Led by Chairman Mr. Nitin khandelwal along with Mr. Shaankar Sen, Mr. Avinash Gupta, Mr. Ashok Bengani and Mr. Suvankar Sen met the Finance Minister (FM) of west Bengal Mr. Amit Mitra recently at the Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata.
Over the round table discussion with the FM, on the side lines of the business summit GJF represented the industry concerns and FM fully acknowledge the same and assured to help Industry and assured GJF that WB Govt. will help in making Gems and Jewellery Industry the best in India and Globally too. FM also suggested that he can lead the delegation to Italy and tie up with Italian jewellery Clusters to build strong relations with Indian Jewellers and promote Make in India.
Apart from the 25000 sq. ft. space allotted to GJF for skilling and training artisans, the FM also assured to provide additional 20000 sq. ft. space to start common Facility centre and instructed GJF to interact with the MD of WBIDC on the above subject.
With support of WB Government, the industry is expected to scale new heights in terms of quality and state of art products as per the International standards.
