VicenzaOro Show to Emphasise on CSR

Vicenza: The VicenzaOro January show which is being held from Jan 20-25, 2017 will have a range of activities that focus on the theme ‘Responsible Gold’ to emphasise the importance of CSR activity by the industry. This will be the first jewellery show to be presented by Italian Exhibition Group S.p.A. (IEG), the trade show company founded after the merger of Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza earlier this year.

The theme reflects the status and positioning of the show, not just as a “high-performance business platform” but alsoas “an authoritative jewellery think-tank, providing quality content and information on market trends and dynamics”, the organisers of the show said in a press release. This year VicenzaOro will therefore also host a series of events and dicussions on important topics such as the value of traceability, ethical trade, environmental protection, safeguarding the right and duty to work and health protection, the statement added.

The positioning is aligned to the status of the Italian Exhibition Group Spa as the first and only trade show company that, with the support of CIBJO (World Jewellery Confederation), has been accredited by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

During the show there will be two important events organized by IEG and dedicated to CSR: a conference, in collaboration with CIBJO, on the theme of Corporate Social Responsibility in companies on Sunday 22nd January (11 am – 12 noon) and the other, a talk on traceability during the Assogemme Ethical Committee conference on Monday 23rd January (3 pm – 4 pm), which is being held with the support of several well-known luxury companies who have taken up sustainability projects.

VicenzaOro will also include a Jewellery Corporate Social Responsibility Award in its awards ceremony.

The organisers said that these special events will be in addition to the regular highlights of the show that will bring together over 1,500 established jewellery companies from 36 countries. The exhibitors will be arranged in six pavilions (ICON, LOOK, CREATION, EXPRESSION, ESSENCE and EVOLUTION) to make it easier for visitors to identify the areas of interest and will also introduce a special Made in Italy promotion supported by The Italian Trade Commission to link over 500 selected buyers to the main areas of their interest.

Other highlights include the 13th edition of the Jewellery Technology Forum to be held on 22ndJanuary 2017 (10 am – 5 pm), that will focus on new technologies and the latest trends in the gold and jewellery industry and, the Small Equipment & Tools area (S.E.T. – Hall 2.2), which will host a selection of companies that produce 3D printers, software and small tools for gold and jewellery manufacturers.

As in previous years VicenzaOro January will also host the TRENDVISION Jewellery + Forecasting team which will release the new TRENDBOOK 2018+, including a seminar on consumer profiles, style and product orientations and trend forecasts for 2017-2018.

The organisers also confirmed the dates for VICENZAORO September (23rd -27th September) in Italy and VICENZAORO Dubai (15th to 18th November 2017) in Dubai.
