Taipei: Italian movie star Sophia Loren is in Taiwan to promote a line of jewellery created in her honour.

A report by icrt.com.tw said the world-famous celebrity waved and blew kisses to reporters upon her arrival at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport from Dubai on November 2.

Loren is promoting a line of jewellery created by Damiani, an Italian luxury jewellery brand. The promotional event was scheduled for November 4 but the actress has chosen to remain in Taiwan for another day to explore its key attractions, the report said.

The 80-year-old star won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1962 for her performance in Two Women, and was granted the Honorary Academy Award in 1991 for her career achievements in the motion picture industry.
