PNG Jewellers Celebrates Centenary of ‘Late Shri Dajikaka Gadgil’

Pune: P. N. Gadgil Jewelles recently celebrated the centenary year of ‘Late Shri Dajikaka Gadgil’ with various events spread out across the day to mark the majestic celebrations. Launch of late Shri Dajikaka Gadgil museum inaugurated by Mayor Chanchalatai Kodre, Shashitai Kirloskar and Mr.Vasant Davkhare, Deputy Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council followed by Madhuri Dixit Nene’s visit to the Laxmi road store where their Mangalsutra mohotsav winners received their gifts and Dajikaka’s life journey’s book was launched along with loyalty cards for regular customers.

Further, Think Pure Awards ceremony was held at Ganesh Krida Kala Manch where S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President of Symbiosis Society, Krishhna Patil, second youngest Indian to climb Mount Everest at an age of 19, Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, Tabla Maestro, Mr. Satish Magar, Vice President, CREDAI were presented by the prestigious awards. Post the awards ceremony Sonu Nigam enthralled the audience by his singing.

On this occasion Mr. Saurabh Gadgil, Managing Director, P. N. Gadgil Jewellers, said “The activities for this were organized to pay an ode to DajiKaka. The museum has a lot of articles depicting DajiKaka’s memories, had he been amongst us today, he would have been very happy. We had plans to celebrate his 100th birthday in a grand manner. He is witnessed as one of Maharashtra’s eminent personalities, especially in the field of jewelry. What we are doing today is a tribute to him, thus we have arranged various activities spread throughout the day. He is PNG jeweler’s patriarch. Even though he is not amongst us we have his blessings and his wisdoms of truth, transparency, thinking like pure gold thus leading to purity of our thoughts. Madhuri’s love for Daji Kaka is the reason why she is here with us today.”

Madhuri Dixit Nene, who met Dajikaka at the launch of their Thane store, said, “I interacted with Dajikaka a lot at the Thane store’s launch, where in one interaction I understood what a humble person he was, he treated me like his daughter. An extremely loveable person, having the curiosity of a 9 year old at the age of 99, his exciting, risk-taking and charming personality totally outshone him even at 99. Coming to P. N. Gadgil Jewellers is as warm as coming home. ”

Mr. Parag Gadgil, Partner, P. N. Gadgil Jewellers has been a fount of knowledge and inspiration on the shop floor, an engineer by profession he has steered the retail ship for over three decades. At the launch of the museum, said, “We are tremendously glad to do what we are doing today and with the way Dajikak’s centenary birthday celebrations have turned out. We assure to take Dajikaka’s blessings forward.”
