Mumbai: The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) recently introduced the new booth design for shell scheme exhibitors and structural norms for Mezzanine booths for participants at the 36th edition of IIJS Premiere 2019 during a special Exhibitor Meet in Mumbai.
The welcome address for the meet was given by Mr. Shamal Pote, the newly appointed Director – National Events, GJEPC, which was followed by the presentation on the highlights of the upcoming 36th edition of the show, which will be held from 9th to 12th August, 2019 with 8th August being the Preview Day – By Invitation only. Mr. Shailesh Sangani, Member of National Exhibition Sub-committee and Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC.
The major highlights of the event were presented to the exhibitors including the addition of a new Hall 7, the Preview day, Visitor Registration moving fully online, Introduction of multiple show registration for Visitors and other important changes in facilities and services at the upcoming show.
Shailesh Sangani, also introduced the New Convener- National Exhibitions Sub-committee Mansukh Kothari. He then discussed the proposed changes such as the introduction of customized furnished designer booth for 9 sq m and 18 sq m.
The new booth designs were introduced and it was stressed that these have been created for uniformity and to maintain international standards in the show. Special focus was given to new rules and regulations pertaining to Mezzanine booth construction including details of the structural guidelines and specifications. This was to enhance durability of the booths and ensure safety for all, Sangani explained.
Following this, the structural consultants gave a complete technical overview of the new rules and regulations for construction of Mezzanine booths.
Each of the presentations was followed by a Q&A session for a better understanding and to resolve any queries raised. Members and participants could also view prototypes of the new booth design displayed at the venue.
The members appreciated the initiatives by GJEPC, especially the new booth design format, attention towards the safety measures and the preparedness programme for the show and for the vendors as well for participants.
