Mumbai: India Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s gift of a lab-grown 7.5-carat “green” diamond to the US President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden during his state visit to the US serves as an endorsement of India’s prowess and leadership in the lab-grown diamond sector.

Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modiji gifted 7.5 Carat ‘green’ lab-grown diamond (LGD) to America’s First Lady Dr. Jill Biden during the private dinner with American President Mr Joe Biden at the White House in Washington. This remarkable gesture not only signifies the deep bond between our nations but also highlights the exemplary advancements made by India in the lab-grown diamond sector.
“Today India is the largest player in growing of CVD lab-grown diamonds. Presenting 7.5 carats in the 75th year of India’s Independence highlights India’s leadership in the LGD sunrise sector and is a great example of the Make in India story, after attaining undisputed global leadership in natural diamonds. India’s exports of LGD has grown exponentially and crossed USD 1.67 billion in 2022- 2023. This symbolic gesture also signifies the growing popularity of LGDs in India, the US and the entire world. In one masterstroke, Prime Minister also highlighted the exquisite craftsmanship of artisans as well.”
