GJSCI Shifts to New Office

Mumbai: The new office of Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India’s (GJSCI) was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India, on 23rd September 2021.

GJSCI moved into a bigger office space in the same building, Business Facilitation Centre, SEZ, SEEPZ, from the 3rd to the 4th floor. The opening ceremony was attended by chief guest Mr. Shyam Jagannathan (IAS), Zonal Development Commissioner and special guest Mr. C.P.S. Chauhan (IRS), Joint Development Commissioner.

GJSCI said the expansion of its activities necessitated the bigger office space. The recently launched Jewellery Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Excellence (JADE) Centre of Excellence is also part of the new office. JADE would focus on improving effectiveness of the gems and jewellery industry by leveraging Machine Learning and Data Science to improve the hit-ratio and casting issues.

The inauguration was attended by several other dignitaries and GJSCI supporters including Mr. Colin Shah, Chairman, GJEPC; Mr. Rajeev Pandya, President, SGJMA; Mr. Tehmasp Printer, MD, IGI; Mr. Shishir Nevatia, Sunjewels; Mr. Sameer Shah, Director, Lotus Ornaments. Mr. Sriram Natarajan, MD, GIA; Dr. Rajendra Bhola Managing Director, Bholasons Jewellers; and Ms. Richa Singh, India – MD, Natural Diamond Council participated through Zoom.
