Mumbai: All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), the apex body of the domestic Gems & Jewellery sector, organized GJF Fashion Nite on 5th Aug, Mumbai to unveil the exclusive and designer jewellery collection by top Brands and promote new business relationships amongst the trade. Through this platform, GJF has also launched the new edition of Gems & Jewellery Times (G&J) magazine and a mobile app for GJF members and trade fraternity. Actress Vidya Balan was the Chief Guest on the occasion and actress-models Sarah Jane Dias and former Miss India Natasha Suri were the celebrity show stoppers who added glitz and glamour to the event.
As part of the Rio Olympics fever that is gripping the nation and the world, GJF Fashion Nite paid a tribute to Indian sports stars who are vying for gold at the Games. Models walking the ramp showcased some element of the precious metal/stones that delivered the inspiring message of ‘Gold Invited Gold’ to cheer/ wish Indian athletes on behalf of all the jeweler members of GJF.
GJF Fashion Nite is the new avatar of an annual event hosted with the objective of creating a networking platform for industry members to meet and forge relationships between business owners. The event, which is held along the sidelines of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) each year, is the perfect opportunity for trade members to relax, while exploring real business opportunities.

This edition of GJF Fashion Nite witnessed more than 1100 members of the fraternity and the programme highlights included fashion shows featuring leading Indian models and celebrities showcasing some of India’s finest jewellery creations by renowned jewellers. GJF Fashion Nite also acknowledged & promote Skill Development through its platform.

Vidya Balan was also presented a cheque of Rs 5 lakhs by Mr G V Sreedhar, Chairman, GJF, which she accepted on behalf of the NGO “Swadesh Foundation”. This was a token of appreciation from GJF for Swadesh Foundation for their consistent work for women empowerment at Raigadh district, in Maharashtra.
