Mumbai: The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has inducted two new members on its Committee of Administration (CoA) for the term period 2022-24. Mr. Anil Virani is named a Member of the Diamond Panel (Reserved Category for Status Holder Exporters) and Ms. Khushboo Ranawat has been appointed as a Member of Gold Jewellery and Other Precious Metal Jewellery Panel (General Category).
Mr. Virani is the Managing Director of the KARP Group, Mumbai, and Ms. Ranawat is a Director of Swarnashilp Chain & Jewellers Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. Both have held positions in the GJEPC CoA in the past.
Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, stated, “The Council welcomes aboard Mr. Anil Virani and Ms. Khushboo Ranawat as members of the CoA. Both of them comes with rich experience in their respective fields and we are happy to have such illustrious and enthusiastic professionals amongst us; their vast experience and knowledge will be crucial for the growth of the industry. Together, the entire CoA will strive to make positive improvements and contribute significantly to the future growth of the industry.”
In all, currently there are 25 members in the GJEPC CoA across panels including Diamond Panel; Coloured Gemstones & Pearls Panel; Lab-Grown Diamond Panel; Studded Jewellery Panel; Gold Jewellery Panel & Other Precious Metal Jewellery Panel; Costume Fashion, Sales To Foreign Tourists, Synthetic Stones Panel; Silver Jewellery Panel; Special Economic Zone Panel, MSME & Government Representative.
GJEPC represents more than 8500 members across India. With headquarters in Mumbai, GJEPC, the apex body of the gem & jewellery trade in India, had earlier announced the election results of the new GJEPC board members for the tenure of 2022-2024 on 30th August 2022. Mr. Vipul Shah, the vice chairman of GJEPC for the tenure 2020-22 took charge as the Chairman of GJEPC, and Mr. Kirit A. Bhansali was elected as the new Vice Chairman of GJEPC.
