Mumbai: India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) organized an interactive session on “Vivad Se Vishwas“ recently at the Convention Hall, Bharat Diamond Bourse, Bandra, Mumbai. The purpose of the session was to impart information to members about various facets of this scheme, which was announced during Budget 2020-21.
Mr. Anil Kumar, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax; Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax; and Ms. Namita Patel, Dy. Commissioner, were special invitees to the seminar.
Dr. Jita Rani Udgata, Asst. Director GJEPC in her opening remarks said that the GJEPC is a body that facilitates the trade. Mr. Ashok Gajera, GJEPC’s Regional Chairman-Western Region, presented the welcome address.
Mr. Kumar introduced the scheme and briefed the audience on the benefits of the “Vivad Se Vishwas” Scheme. Ms. Patel, explained the various details about this scheme, like: amount payable by declarant ; benefits of the scheme; particulars to be furnished; the circumstances in which it will be presumed that the declaration not been made; immunity from initiation of proceedings; computation and refund.
The presentation was followed by a Q&A session during which participants were able to clarify several points directly with Principal Commissioner of Income Tax.
