Mumbai: India and France are looking to strengthen their ties in the luxury sector, as they held a meeting on 28th February to discuss the opportunities and challenges of collaboration. The meeting was attended by Mr. Eric Fajole, Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of France in India, and Mr. Ashish Kothari, Co-Convener, SEZ Sub-Committee, GJEPC, along with other representatives from both countries.
The meeting focused on various aspects of the luxury industry, such as design and innovation, market access, sustainable practices, cultural exchange, education and training, and digital transformation.
The participants agreed that there was immense potential for cooperation in this sector, as India and France have complementary skills and resources. India has a rich heritage of craftsmanship and a growing consumer base, while France has a global reputation for excellence and quality in luxury products and services.
