First M-E Jewellery Designers’ Forum Successful

Dubai: The ‘First Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum’ saw a successful launch during the recently concluded ‘Mid-East Watch and Jewellery Show Sharjah’. Initiated by The New Jeweller Group, the First Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum was a historic moment as Leading Jewellery Designers of the Middle Eastern region enthralled the participants with their best of designs and creativity. The Forum was inaugurated by Mr. George Kaseza from the Tanzania Minerals Audit Agency under the Govt. of Tanzania who congratulated the initiative and wished the jewellery designers a strong future in the industry during his launch speech.

Jewellery designers from across the GCC region such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, etc. showcased the importance and strength of the ‘Design Element’ in every jewellery piece. The Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum also saw leading corporate houses such as L’AZURDE Group represented by Mr. Selim Chidiac, CEO, GIA represented by Ms. Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director India and the Middle East showcasing their respective services and talking about the importance of Design sector in the gems and jewellery industry. Eminent panelists Mr. Abdul Salaam KP, Executive Director – Malabar Gold, Mr. Rihen Mehta, Chairman – 7Cs Group and Mr. Costa El Hreich of Hiresh Jewellery drafted a path for the future of Designer Jewellery in the Middle East through an interesting panel discussion.

Jewellery Designers of The Middle East Presented during the Forum:

For the first time, the Middle East saw Leading Jewellery Designers at the ‘Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum’ such as Ms. Kholuod Kurdi, Ms. Azza Al Qubaisi, Ms. Maha Al Sibai, Ms. Noor Al Naboulsi and Mr. Saeed Mortazawi come together in strength under a single platform to position the importance of the Jewellery Designers, in an era where Jewellery is facing competition from Consumer and Luxury goods. All of the jewellery designers while showcasing their respective creativity, stressed on the need for a neutral platform such as the Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum to build the importance of Designer Jewellery in the GCC region. The Designers also deliberated to resolve that it is only ‘Designer Jewellery’ that will once again build the aspiration for jewellery buying and will drive every customer back to the Jewellery retail store.

GIA in the First Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum 2015:

Ms.Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director India and Middle East kick started the Forum with the first presentation video of GIA. The video gave an overview of GIA activities and services in the Middle Eastern region and also showcased an International focus perspective to the audience. The video also presented on the courses related to Design and other areas that are made available to students across the GCC region. Ms. Bhatt also moderated the first Panel discussion in the Forum inviting Mr. Abdul Salaam KP, Executive Director – Malabar Gold,  Mr. Rihen Mehta, Chairman – 7Cs Group and Mr. Costa El Hreich of Hiresh Jewellery  on the panel to discuss the “Importance of Jewellery Designers and ‘Design Element’ in the Middle Eastern gems and jewellery sector”.  The panel discussion got a rousing response from the participants as interesting questions were put forth from them.

L’AZURDE in the First Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum 2015:

L`azurde’s support to the first Middle East Jeweller Designers’ Forum was evident in the presentation and the presence of Mr.Selim Chidiac, CEO, L`azurde Group. Mr.Chidiac presented the strength of La`zurde brands in the International market giving due credit to the team of eminent designers of L’azurde and stressed on the fact that Jewellery Designers of the Middle Eastern region are doing a commendable task of positioning ‘Designer Jewellery’ as the ultimate inspiration to drive customers to the jewellery store.

Vision:

The Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum has taken shape as a neutral platform to project the importance of ‘Designer Jewellery’ in the GCC region to build the aspiration for jewellery buying by showcasing the importance of Designs and creativity which is inspired by the Jewellery Designers of the Middle East. The Forum plans to travel across the GCC region Year on Year to address the various economies such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait etc. The New Jeweller Group, through the Forum also intends to launch various programs under the aegis of the Forum to bring together a large number of existent and aspiring jewellery designers under one roof.
