Expectations High for IGJS Dubai Show

  • IGJS Dubai will witness 600+ buyers and 150 stalls

Mumbai: The Jewels of Emirates show, popularly known as the Sharjah show, was a tremendous success, which catered to the pentup demand caused due to the pandemic-related lockdowns. The success of the Sharjah show has boosted the morale of the hundred GJEPC members who exhibited at the show. They are now eagerly looking forward to participating at the upcoming B2B International Gem & Jewellery Show – IGJS Dubai, slated to be held on 14th to 16th August 2021.

Mr. Colin Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “We are thankful to the UAE government for granting permission to 100 GJEPC members to participate at the recently concluded Sharjah show. I would also like to thank the Indian Embassy in UAE for being in constant touch with UAE Govt. authorities for getting the required permission and arrangements. The Emirates arranged for a chartered flight between Delhi and Dubai, enabling all exhibitors to participate in the show.”

Mr. Shah further added, “We are coordinating with the Indian Embassy in UAE to talk to the UAE Govt. authorities to arrange a similar travel facility for the exhibitors travelling for IGJS Dubai, and we are expecting a positive response from the UAE officials in the next 7 to 10 days.”

Mr. Dilip Shah, Convener, International Exhibitions, GJEPC, said, “For the IGJS Dubai show, so far, 250+ buyers have registered and 95+ stalls have been booked. We have buyers from all across the world including Algeria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, UAE, USA, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Oman, and Qatar. We would be organising the show, adhering to all preventive and precautionary measures related to Covid that have been prescribed by the UAE.”

IGJS Dubai is supported by the Department of Commerce, Government of India, and will have 150 booths, covering products including Plain Gold and Gold Studded jewellery, Diamond Studded jewellery, Silver jewellery, and Loose Stones (Diamonds, Gemstones).

Buyers including wholesalers, retailers, importers from all sectors of the jewellery industry worldwide, design houses, jewellery manufacturers sourcing diamonds and gemstones, and independent retailers are expected to visit the show.

Logistics arrangements have been done for the IGJS Dubai show and the stall allotments will be done in next few days.

Further the IGJS show is also supported by the Dubai Gold and jewellery Group, and Co-sponsored by International Gemological Institute Pvt. Ltd. (IGI).
