Ahmedabad: The first ever Common Facility Centre for the gems and jewellery trade was inaugurated by Mrs. Rita Teaotia, Hon’ble Commerce Secretary, Government of India at Visnagar in Gujarat yesterday.
The centre is part of the government supported project to establish centres at key locations in smaller towns where artisans from smaller enterprises will have access to the latest technology for diamond cutting and polishing.
Also present on the occasion were Mr. Manoj Dwivedi, JS, MoC&I, D. Thara, industries Secretary, Govt. Of Gujarat, Mr. Rushikesh Patel, MLA Visnagar, Mr. Dinesh Navadiya, GJEPC Regional Chairman, Gujarat, Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, Mr. Jethabhai Prajapati, President Visnagar Diamond Association, Mr. Govind Patel, member of Implementing and Monitoring Committee, members from Gujarat Regional Committee, office bearers of Amreli, Palanpur, Ahmedabad and Botad diamond association and trade members from local diamond industry.
