Mumbai: Mr. Bhushan Gagrani, IAS, Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation yesterday launched the first edition of ‘BDB e-News’, the official e-newsletter of Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB). The newly launched news platform is part of a planned strategic upgrade in BDB’s use of digital communications to boost dissemination of information and stakeholder engagement.
The launch took place at a special event attended by key stakeholders, members of the BDB and the diamond industry.
The newly launched e-newsletter will share reports about important updates, happenings and developments within the bourse, and the diamond industry. It will serve as a comprehensive platform to share information related to key activities and initiatives undertaken by BDB as well as highlight government policy developments, regulatory guidelines, brief market insights and other useful information. It aims to enhance transparency, encourage collaboration, and keep members up to date.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Bhushan Gagrani appreciated BDB’s role as a responsible corporate citizen committed to modernization and growth and the contribution it makes to the development of the country and the city. He complimented the Bourse for its being the largest payer of property tax each year with a contribution of Rs 30 crore to the city’s coffers.
Congratulating the Bourse leadership for its forward-looking approach in embracing digital communication to strengthen industry engagement, Mr. Gagrani said, “The launch of a digital newsletter could not have come at a better time just when India is playing a leadership role at the AI Summit that is steering the growth of the latest technologies.”
He added, “Globalisation and digitalisation are important key words to the future, and I am happy to note that the diamond industry, and BDB, are embracing both of these.”
BDB President Mr. Anoop Mehta and Vice President Mr. Mehul Shah introduced the e-newsletter saying it reflects the organization’s commitment to modernization, improved member services, and proactive industry communication, both within the Bourse members as well as with the rest of the global industry.
“The launch is happening when the mood in the industry has been buoyant due to announcements of new trade deals with EU and US. By adopting a digital format for news, BDB also reinforces its commitment to the future and using channels that connect with the emerging generation who will be tomorrow’s leaders of our industry,” Anoop Mehta said.
“The e-newsletter will be a bi-monthly publication that will be circulated widely, positioning it as a trusted source of information and a valuable platform for highlighting member achievements, upcoming events, and strategic initiatives,” Mehul Shah explained, adding, “We are going to add many new features to it, including blogs, while developing integrated plans for digital communication platforms.”
With this launch, Bharat Diamond Bourse continues to reaffirm its role as a premier global diamond trading hub and a progressive institution dedicated to supporting its members and strengthening India’s leadership in the global diamond industry.
