ALROSA Appoints Director for Vladivostok

Moscow: Alexey Ivanov is a new head of ALROSA branch in Vladivostok. He will be in charge of the branch business development, search for new clients and the Company’s expansion at the platform of the Eurasian Diamond Center (EDC).

Alexey Ivanov has an extensive experience in the diamond business. In previous years, he was the head of Arcos Diamonds Israel Ltd and ALROSA representative office in Israel. Previously, he worked in ALROSA Security Department in Mirny and was a member of the Company’s managerial staff based in its Moscow office in a position of Aide to the President of Almazy Rossii – Sakha. Over the last years, he was the head of the Administrative Office of Vice Chairman of the Council of the Federation and Aide to the Member of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Shtyrov. He is Class 3 Active State Advisor of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Ivanov was born in 1958. He is a graduate of Sverdlov Law Institute named after Rudenko with a Diploma in Jurisprudence.

ALROSA branch in Vladivostok was established in 2016 by the decision of Company’s Supervisory Board with the purpose of development of the Eurasian Diamond Centre on the territory of the Free Port of Vladivostok. The branch sold the first rough diamonds at the EDC in August-September last year. Total diamond sales amounted to USD 21.6 million from January to May this year. Before year-end, projected sales will go up to not less than USD 70 million.

Apart from increasing ALROSA’s sales, the branch is responsible for developing regional coverage, and expanding cooperation with clients from Asia-Pacific, first of all, China, Japan, Singapore, and other countries. The branch is also in charge of the search for potential partners and investors to set up manufacturing facilities for the use of industrial grade diamonds and manufacture of equipment for diamond cutting industry.
