India Condemns Discriminatory Practices

Vipul ShahMumbai: A news report appeared in some newspapers has alleged that Harikrishna Exports declined job to a person on basis of religion.

Chairman of The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) Mr. Vipul Shah has issued a statement in this reference which says, “The Gem & Jewelry industry of India condemns discriminatory practices in employment and trading, be it related to caste, creed or religion. In fact, the G&J is also one of the top employment generating industries in the country, which is reality owing to its fair recruitment policies.”

“In the recent case of Harikrishna Exports, one of the prominent exporter members of GJEPC; we believe that the allegations are not based on thorough investigations. We consider it unfair to jump to such hasty conclusions, wrongly accusing the company for actions that are tarnishing the company’s reputation. Harikrishna Exports is well acclaimed for works of philanthropy and wellbeing of humanity and is committed towards employee development since generations. We urge the Govt. and other authorities to investigate the matter and take corrective actions against the guilty.”
