Mumbai: In it’s first, India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is organising India Pavilion, consisting of leading names at the forthcoming show Carat+ at Antwerp, Belgium. The event is slated from 7th to 9th May 2017. India Pavilion will witness 5 leading Indian companies, spread over a significant 72 sq. mts of exhibition space. The Indian exhibitors are all set to showcase exquisite craftsmanship and jewellery collections comprising of high-end fine diamond jewellery.
GJEPC chairman, Praveenshankar Pandya said, “Antwerp is the significant trading center in the world diamond market. One can expect significant buyer & sellers to be present at CARAT+. This is one event we can’t afford to miss, and have taken this opportunity to bring exporters here to help them build their network with this industry and improve business. GJEPC is organizing India Pavilion in association with Artexis-Easyfairs at CARAT+.”
A unique celebration of the diamond in all its facets, CARAT+ is designed to showcase the most important product class in the jewellery market, filling a gap in the international trade show arena. All elements of the diamond category will be present. Exhibitors from more than 10 countries will showcase their goods, making this a truly international show.
India’s gem and jewellery industry is a bright star of the economy, and one of the important foundations of the country’s export-led growth. A major contributor to the creditable performance of the industry is the massive diamond manufacturing sector, which employs nearly one million people across the country. In the year ending 2016, India exported a staggering USD 3156.96 million out of which Cut & Polished Diamonds contribute an overwhelming USD 1985.19 million.
