Edward Asscher Re-Elected as RJC Vice Chair

London: Edward Asscher is re elected as the Vice Chairman of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). Mr. Asscher has served in the role for the past four years.

In 2024, Asscher was a nominee for the chairman position. However, he ultimately lost the vote to Richline CEO Dave Meleski and remained vice chairman.

Though Asscher retired in 2020 after five decades at the helm of family-run business Royal Asscher Diamonds, he remains the company’s non-executive chairman. He is also a former head of the World Diamond Council (WDC).

Thanking the RJC members, Mr. Asscher said, “Your trust and support inspire me to lead with purpose and to continue advancing responsible business practices across our industry. It is an honour to serve this remarkable industry.”
