Mumbai: India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has pledged to introduce a nationwide blood donation campaign to commemorate and celebrate Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s birthday on 17th September 2025.

The same day will be celebrated as the National Jewellers Day every year.

Mr. Nirav Bhansali, Convener, National Exhibitions GJEPC announced during the IIJS Premiere 2025 that 75000 blood sample collections to match with Mr. Modi’s 75th birthday has been envisaged by the Council and to be ramped up by national trade media and social and digital media bloggers.

In an appeal to the entire gem & jewellery industry, the GJEPC requests, “My Dear Colleagues, as part of our Nationwide Blood Donation Drive starting 17th September 2025 (Vishwakarma Jayanti, Artisan’s Day. We need active support of employees & their families, Karigars, trade associations, Members and industry contacts.  While we all are working on the arrangements for the camps with Red Cross and blood banks, we urge all of you to begin outreach and mobilization right away.  Together, let’s make this campaign historic, save countless lives, and set a World Record for the largest blood donation drive! Your support is key – let’s all come together and make this happen!”
