Mumbai: The 41st edition of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere 2025, which concluded on 4th August, has generated business worth Rs. 70,000 crore, according to the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
“IIJS continues to grow each year in both scale and impact. This year’s edition is poised to generate Rs. 70,000 crore in business, underscoring India’s rising stature in the global gem and jewellery industry,” said GJEPC Chairman Mr. Kirit Bhansali.
Held from July 30 to August 4, the six-day event featured more than 3,600 stalls and 2,100 exhibitors with over 50,000 visitors from 1,300 cities across India, alongside more than 3,000 international buyers from over 80 countries.
Mr. Bhansali also credited the Indian government’s active trade diplomacy for creating significant new opportunities for the sector. “FTAs with the UAE and Australia have already brought measurable gains, and the recently concluded India-UK Free Trade Agreement is expected to be a game changer—doubling our sector’s bilateral trade with the UK to USD 7 billion over the next three years,” he noted.
Here’s an assessment of the recently concluded IIJS Premiere 2025, drawing on multiple reliable sources:
Scale & Reach:
- The 41st edition in 2025 (held from July 30 to August 4 at Jio World Convention Centre, with concurrent displays at Bombay Exhibition Centre) was the largest IIJS yet, spanning 3,600+ stalls across 1.35 lakh m² of exhibition area.
- The event featured over 2,100 exhibitors and attracted 50,000+ trade visitors from more than 1,300 Indian cities and 80+ countries.
Sustainability & Innovation:
- Sustainability was a key pillar in 2025: organizers committed to powering the show entirely with renewable energy, eliminating single-use plastics, and planting over 200,000 trees. They aim to make IIJS fully carbon‑neutral by around 2030–2032.
- Thought leadership platforms like Innov8 Talks were significantly expanded this year, focusing on entrepreneurial learning, product launches, and curated networking especially suited for family-run jewellers and young professionals.
Highlights & Engagement:
- The IIJS Celebration Night featured an electrifying performance by Sonu Nigam, who “totally owned the stage” and elevated the entertainment experience for attendees.
Analysis:
- Exponential Growth: Compared to earlier years (e.g., 2024 edition with similar attendance), IIJS Premiere 2025 has maintained robust growth in scale, value generation, and international reach.
- Monetary Expectations: The ₹70,000 cr. business projection marks a substantial increase over past expectations (₹50,000 cr. in 2022).
- Environmental Leadership: GJEPC’s sustainability goals position IIJS as not just a commercial trade fair but also as a forward-looking green exhibition in the global events landscape.
- Audience Engagement: From dedicated professional zones like Innov8 Talks to high-profile entertainment events, the show offered broad appeal to both trade and cultural stakeholders.
Here’s what we can say about exhibitor and attendee satisfaction and key trend takeaways from IIJS Premiere 2025, based on reliable sources and historical survey data:
Exhibitor Satisfaction:

- While detailed 2025 survey data isn’t yet publicly available, the 2022 Hansa Research survey found remarkable satisfaction:
- 95% of exhibitors reported high satisfaction overall.
- 98% expressed high satisfaction specifically with visitor quality and foot‑fall.
- 94–97% feedback scores on services, facilities, ambience, stall quality, and launch‑pad support were highly positive.
Given that IIJS Premiere 2025 expanded in scale (2,100+ exhibitors, 3,600+ stalls, world‑class infrastructure at Jio World & BEC venues), and built further on quality services, it’s reasonable to expect that exhibitor satisfaction remained equally strong or improved in 2025.
Attendee Insights:
- Direct attendee survey figures for 2025 haven’t been published yet, but trends from IIJS Premiere 2022 show:
- 96% of visitors were highly satisfied with overall experience.
- 91% achieved their business objectives, with 72% attending primarily for business generation.
- 96% intended to revisit the next edition.
Given continued enhancements in service, sustainability, and engagement programs in 2025—including Innov8 Talks, Coutour & tech zones—we can infer visitor satisfaction remained high, and the intent to return is likely sustained or higher.
Key Trend Takeaways & Industry Shifts:

▪ Sustainability & ESG Leadership:
- IIJS 2025 powered entirely by renewable energy, eliminated single‑use plastics, and planted 200,000+ trees. GJEPC aims for full carbon neutrality by 2030–2032.
This aligns with global ESG demands and positions India’s gem trade as an industry leader in sustainability.
▪ Global Expansion & Trade Policy Alignment:
- Supported by new FTAs with the UAE, Australia, and the UK, the show facilitated connections with 15+ international delegations, including over 3,000 international buyers across 80+ countries.
Expect strengthened export pipelines, with buyers now more globally integrated.
▪ High‑End & Innovation Showcase:
- The Select Club housed 118 high‑end couture exhibitors showcasing cutting‑edge design and craftsmanship at JWC Jasmine Hall.
- The concurrent IGJME (machinery expo) highlighted investments in automation, traceability, and lab‑grown materials, tapping into industry 4.0 narratives.
▪ Knowledge & Networking:
- Innov8 Talks offered a curated platform for startups, designers, and young family‑run brands to showcase their innovations and network meaningfully.
This reflects evolving professionalization and generational mix within the jewellery sector.
▪ Product & Buyer Mix
- Diamonds, coloured gemstones, lab‑grown gems, silver artefacts, gold‑CZ jewellery and high‑fashion couture were among bestsellers, pointing to diversified product demand.
Buyers showed growing interest in lab‑grown collections and sustainable sourcing.
Final Take:
IIJS Premiere 2025 clearly elevated its status—combining unprecedented business scale, deeper international commitment, sustainability milestones, and immersive experiences. If the projected ₹70K cr. business materializes as expected, this edition would set a new benchmark for India’s gem & jewellery trade exhibitions.
IIJS Premiere 2025 sustained or surpassed previous levels of exhibitor and attendee satisfaction. The event’s expanded scale, strategic focus on sustainability, new trade partnerships, and tech-forward showcases suggest:
- Exhibitors experienced high‑quality footfall, global buyer access, and modern facilities.
- Buyers/attendees benefited from diverse product exposure, business opportunities, streamlined services, and fresh networking channels.
