Ahmedabad: A closing ceremony for “Swarna Utsav” (Gold Festival)– The Grand Shopping Festival was organised on 20^th Oct. in Ahmedabad in presence of Mr. Om Prakash Kohli, Honorable Governor of Gujarat, Shri Shantibhai Patel, President, Jewellers Association, Ahmedabad, Mr. Rakesh Shah, President Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Shri Somabhai Modi, Social Worker.

Mr. Om Prakash Kohli, said that G & J industry has great potential in India and growth outside India. He informed that Gujarat is creating its identity in international market through “Saundariya and Kala, its Cultural heritage and Development”. He also appreciated the work of craftsman and informed that this being a composite endeavor wherein each involved has equal importance. Lastly he appreciated the concept for development of Museum to promote the industry.

Shri Shantibhai Patel informed that our Association was concerned due to the market scenario prevailing since last six months and to promote the industry and to recognize the hard work of Craftsmen, Jewellers Association – Ahmedabad has organized ‘Swarna Utsav’ – The Grand Shopping Festival. More than 60 jeweller family members from various parts of Ahmedabad participated in the event. He further, informed that the event is a grand success with enhanced traffic flow from various parts of Gujarat and outside Gujarat at each participant showroom. Even the customers were delighted and satisfied with the offers and purchases.

Mr. Patel also informed that a Museum to be developed showcasing the items of our craftsman as it is an efficient way to promote the industry. This would not only help all associated with the G & J industry but also the state in attracting more people from all parts of the world.

Mr. Patel opined to organize such event concurrent to Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas which this time is going to be organized at Gandhinagar.
