Mumbai: The All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) has unanimously elected Mr. Anantha Padmanaban as its Vice Chairman. He is currently Zonal Chairman – South and he is the Managing Director of NAC Jewellers, Chennai. Welcoming his appointment, Mr. Nitin Khandelwal, Chairman, said “I am pleased that Mr. Anantha Padmanaban has been unanimously elected as the Vice Chairman of GJF and I’m very confident that his election would strengthen GJF activities across the gem and jewellery industry as he brings incredibly strong knowledge and experience which will be vital as we endeavour to work with the Government for the benefit of the industry.
In his comments, Mr. Padmanaban said, “I am very excited to take up the respectable position as Vice Chairman of GJF, an elite and apex body of the country. I have been associated with GJF since its inception as a founder member and have been on committees that presented various concerns to the govt. GJF has firmly stood over the
years for industry’s issues and challenges. As a Vice Chairman of the federation, I will ensure that we will continue to transform to make the gem and jewellery fully organized.”
All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) is an apex and responsible body for the domestic Gems & Jewellery Industry since 2005. It represents over 4,00,000 players comprising manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, distributors, laboratories, gemologists, designers and allied services to the domestic Gems & Jewellery industry. The Gems & Jewellery industry is a hand crafted and labour intensive with over 1 crore strong labour force engaged in the manufacturing of jewellery industry in the domestic sector.
